"The Gallery at Avalon Island" and the new adjoining "ArtCafe' Gallery" will each host exciting new exhibitions of artwork by nationally recognized Orlando area artists; Linda Amundsen & Sally Cummings Shisler, and Cynthia Edmonds.  While sharing a similar inspiration of nature and Florida's natural settings, you will be delighted by the artists' unique impression of their environment.  Each artist is actively involved in national juried art shows, has won numerous awards and honors and is widely sought after by art collectors.  The artists are also active in their own right within our local communities through gallery representation and exhibitions.  More importantly for Central Florida is their generous contributions of time AND artwork that have been donated to numerous organizations including The United Arts of Central Florida, the Downtown Arts District, the Maitland Art Center and the Crealde School of Art.  They understand the importance of Orlando's movement toward a heightened awareness of the talent we have right here.  These paired exhibitions promise world class artwork from award winning fine art painters. Come to see this celebration of poignant and beautiful Florida imagery!

The opening receptions will take place at the two beautifully renovated galleries at 39 and 37 S. Magnolia Ave. (corner of Pine St.) at 6:00 PM on January 17th during this month's Third Thursday downtown event.  We will also be treated with guitar and lyrics by local musician Joseph Martens.  For more information, please contact the gallery director, Jeffrey Shonkwiler, at 407-803-6670.
